What Is SPC
The rigid, waterproof core that redefined vinyl flooring
SPC stands for Stone Plastic Composite — a rigid core made mainly from limestone powder and stabilisers. That mineral core is what gives SPC flooring its defining qualities: it is 100% waterproof, dense and dimensionally stable, so it does not swell in water or expand and contract like softer floors when the temperature changes.
Because the core is rigid rather than flexible, SPC bridges minor subfloor imperfections and can be installed over most existing hard floors with minimal preparation. A licensed Unilin click locks each plank tool-free, so a floating SPC floor goes down fast and lifts back out for repairs.
MILAT SPC flooring finishes that engineering with an Embossed In Register (EIR) surface, a wear layer rated up to AC5, a pre-attached IXPE acoustic layer and a 2X UV top coat — a floor that looks like natural wood or stone yet handles wet rooms and heavy commercial traffic.
Key Features
Why SPC flooring performs where other floors fail
Rigid stone-polymer core
A dense mineral core resists dents, bridges minor subfloor flaws and stays flat where flexible vinyl telegraphs every bump.
100% waterproof
The core cannot absorb water, so SPC is safe in kitchens, bathrooms, laundries and basements that rule out real wood and laminate.
Dimensionally stable
SPC barely expands or contracts with heat, so gaps and peaking are far less likely than with WPC or flexible LVT.
AC5 wear layer
Rated up to AC5, the surface withstands heavy commercial footfall, castor chairs and pets.
Licensed Unilin click
A genuine licensed locking system, engineered for a tight, reliable joint — not an unlicensed clone.
Quiet and warm
A pre-attached IXPE layer absorbs sound up to 21 dB and takes the chill off the mineral core underfoot.

MILAT SPC has a pre-attached IXPE acoustic layer, so a separate underlay is usually not required. Follow the installation guidance for your subfloor.
